Let Me Be Your Ruler

A super quick post as I rush out to buy a few more things for the College Culturals tomorrow and Diwali, after which I am heading to satisfy my Macaroon Craving! :D
I promise to put up a post where I talk a little more, very soon.

Wearing this classic black maxi dress which I wish to wear every single day of my life, the comfort and the flow of the fabric makes it one of my favorite numbers in my wardrobe. Teamed it up with this trendy striped vest. The silver spiked ring, along with the clutch bag completes my free and easy look. And finally wearing these mirror glasses again, which was somehow ignored by me for quite sometime now.

I absolutely adore this easy going look, hope you enjoy it too.

Every Whisper

Festival Season is here! The most celebrated festivals of India, Dussherah and Diwali, surely a golden period for all the shopaholics, as the market is filled with new exciting offers and new ranges of clothing and accessories etc, exclusively designed for this fun filled season.
I am sure you all have already started planning on the gifts and clothes for the same.

Well, I certainly have! And I have put together this look here that represents the style of clothing I am going to stick with.
In the season of festivals when it gets all chaotic and messy while decorating the house, running errands, you need to wear something that is trendy and yet not difficult to handle. I am wearing this Navy Blue Maxi Skirt with side slits, an absolute epitome of comfort clothing.
Teamed it up with a basic full sleeve black T shirt. Have tucked in the bottom of the top, an attmept to give a touch of the Indian Ethnic Wear.
When it comes to Footwears, I am kolhapuri person, anyday! Wearing these studded kolhapuris here, which is very different from the regular ones and yet very comfortable just like regular ones.
Adding a touch of bling to my look and breaking the monotony of the dark colors here is this gorgeous emerald colored pendant which I have been meaning to wear since forever. A mishmash of colors is created as I am wearing a few bangles and bracelets, mostly of different and bright colors. Carrying this (almost) structured bag which is spacious enough to carry all the things that you need to!

One thing that is a must in the festive season, Red Lipstick. Wearing my favorite shade of red here, it acts as an instant mood birghtener for me!

Top : Blue, Bangalore
Skirt : Sher Singh (Myntra)
Pendant : No Strings Attached by Manat and Prachi
Bangles and Bracelets : Toniq Accessories
Footwear : Westside Store
Bag : Red Herring (Debenhams)
Lip Color: 'Hot Hot Hot' by Colorbar

I created this festive look for 'Eclectic Northeast'.

The Pink October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A month when all the people come together to spread the awareness about this disease and also help and support the people suffering with the same.

I myself wasn't much educated about Breast Cancer. Always been quite ignorant and scared of the name itself. But then after attending the Breast Cancer Campaign by Elle with Hardrock Cafe - Pinktober, I have come to know a lot about the disease.
The possible causes, the symptoms, ways to self examine yourself and other necessary steps that one should take depending on the age, there is a lot that we were told about.
The entire session included an informative video, and a speech by a very famous Oncologist from the city, and interaction with this lady suffering with Breast Cancer, a lady who has written a book 'A little bit of Pink' which is partially based on her experiences when her Mom went through cancer recovery, and this kind gentleman who contributed in the campaign by buying a guitar in an auction by Hardrock Cafe, where the money would go a patient. Quite an event, surely put me into a bit of deep thoughts.

Here are few things that we should do to insure we stay away from this disease:

Avoid becoming overweight
Eat healthy
* Relax
* Be physically active and exercise regularly
* Don't smoke and drink less (or not at all)
* Breast feed your babies
Eat less fat
Minimize exposure to pharmacologic estrogens and xeno-estrogens
* Walk
* Self Examination from time to time, along with clinical screening.

I also thought I should make a list of foods that help avoiding Breast Cancer naturally, so that all of you can consciously increase the intake of these.

* Broccoli
* Sprouts
* Cabbage
* Spinach
* Tomatoes
* Carrots
* Olive Oil
* Fatty Fish
* Turmeric
* Beans
* Berries

Avoid Red Meat, Sweets, Processed Meat etc.

Hope the article helps, you can also go through other articles and videos online to know more about Breast Cancer. There are various videos available on self examination that you can watch. Also, make sure that after the age of 20, you do a self examination every month, go for screening (once in a year) apart from self examination every month once you are 30, and also go for mammography yearly after the age of 40.

Help each other in spreading the awareness. :)

I was very delighted when I was sent this classy porcelain print shirt from the lovely peeps at Stylholic a few days back.
This print has been quite a trend nowadays, and we have seen it both on and off the ramp. I somehow feel that the color white doesn't suit me much but this shirt has changed my mind to a little extent. *smug smile* =D

Would love to know what you think!
